When I first discovered Somatic Emotional Release (SER) a few years ago, I was both curious and a bit afraid. I was curious about how it would feel to explore my innermost emotions, and I was afraid of what I might discover about myself. The fear was compounded by the fact that I had never experienced anything like SER before.

During the therapy sessions, I was encouraged to close my eyes and focus on my body. I was asked to notice any physical sensations or discomfort that I was feeling and to describe them to the therapist. The therapist would then guide me through a series of exercises that helped me to release the tension in my body and explore the emotions that were linked to it.


Over the last three years, I have had over 15 sessions, and each one has been a part of my unique journey. During some sessions, I was able to explore and understand how I was protecting myself from the world, and how I could use this protection to help me without shutting everything out. Other sessions were more emotionally intense, and I was able to forgive myself for past mistakes I didn't even know I still held onto. One particularly interesting session was a conversation between my inner child and warrior archetypes. In this session, I was able to connect with my inner child and understand how past experiences had shaped my current beliefs and behaviors. I was also able to connect with my inner warrior, who helped me to find the strength and courage to face my fears and overcome my emotional challenges.


Overall, my experience with Somato Emotional Release has been incredibly positive. It has allowed me to connect with myself in ways that I never thought possible and has given me a greater sense of control over my emotions and physical sensations.
